Indonesia’s Revolt against Oligarchy

The protests that have flared up across Indonesia for some time reached a new crescendo in August 2025. Thousands took to the streets, both in Jakarta and other cities across the island archipelago, calling for social justice and institutional reform. They might just have been the beginning of further struggles.
