Marx on Justice and Democracy
Karl Marx is one of the great thinkers of humanity in general and the proletariat of the world in particular. His thought exerts profound influence on the progress of human history and has so far been of great value and vitality. The celebration of the 200th anniversary of Marx's birth serves as an opportunity for both international and Vietnamese scholars to reflect on Marx's thoughts through a lively practical lens to further validate the scientific and revolutionary values in his heritage of ideas, especially his thought on the relation between democracy and social justice - which are the common values that humanity has been struggling to gain and become steadfastly realized in social life of many countries and territories around the world. The thoughts of Karl Marx in general and his thoughts on democracy, social justice and the relation between them in particular have a scientific and methodological significance that helps us to build a new society in which democracy and justice are the most basic and practical values, that man can not only be liberated and developed comprehensively, but also truly become HUMAN in the proper sense of the word.
This edited book covers the proceedings of the international conference on "Karl Marx's thoughts on social justice and democracy and its current relevance", which was co-organized by the RLS SEA Hanoi office and the Institute of Philosophy of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in October 2018.
