Rethinking transformation: Comparative perspectives from the Global South

The victims of climate change - The social impact of climate change at the Vietnamese side of the Mekong River Delta

Southeast Asia, especially Vietnam, is heavily endangered by the impacts of climate change. In recent policies the Vietnamese government mainly focuses on technical approaches to adapt to and to mitigate the risks of climate change. It can be foreseen that there will be impacts far beyond the solutions offered by technology.

Thinking about Alternatives!

It is discussed that transforming the global development model must focus on quality instead of quantity, on
sufficiency instead of affluence and on human needs instead of desires. The presentation was held by Daniel Bladh during the 9th Asie Europe People’s Forum for the Vientiane Nights organised by RLS and the International Organizing Committee of the AEPF.
